What are the services available?
Kubernetes-as-a-Service (K8SaaS) is available in AVM Cloud now, if you are working on modernize your applications, developing microservices to cater for business logics for your business, and need a robust and high-performance infrastructure to host your applications, you just found it. By subscribe to AVM Cloud’s K8SaaS, you will have a dedicated K8S cluster with all the necessary infrastructure components to run your containerize workload, Kubernetes that is fully conformance and certified by CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation).
What are the different sizes?
All control plan and worker nodes are setup with standard configuration of 8x vCPU, 32GB RAM and 350GB of solid-state storage. For customer who have different requirement in the sizing of control plane or worker nodes, please reach out to our account managers or contact us at marketing@avmcloud.net.
AVM Cloud’s K8SaaS will come with both the control plane nodes, and the worker nodes, as the chart below. For mission and business critical workload, it is best practice to have 3x controller plane nodes, which is the configuration that AVM Cloud is offering for medium and large size cluster. For medium and large size cluster, they are being configure with 3 and 5 worker nodes, respectively. Customers have the freedom to add as much worker nodes to the existing cluster as they wish without affecting the production workload or reduce the worker nodes to the baseline quantity of worker nodes when the demand reduce. This is perfect for customer who have seasonal workload traffic, for example, e-commerce workload for Christmas, and Chinese New Year.
For small cluster, which is meant for customer in test, development, demo and POC environment, it is sized with one control plane nodes and one worker node.
K8SaaS customer will have the option to add nodes to their existing cluster as they need by subscribing to additional nodes which can be added to the cluster without affecting the production cluster, each node will add 8x vCPU, 32GB RAM to the cluster.

What is immutable?
How the subscribers use the service?
Each newly subscribe customer will be given a login credential to the VPC portal where the developer will be able to download the kubeconfig file where it can be use by the Kubernetes CLI that they are familiar with on their laptop or development environment. From the CLI, the same YAML file that the developer used to deploy their application to their internal K8s environment can be re-directed to the K8S cluster in AVM, no changes to YAML file required, and the same application deployment will be running in AVM cloud.
The K8S cluster from AVM Cloud also will have access to the resources on the internet, for example, the docker hub where common and standard container images can be download, for example, NGINX, Web servers, Redis and etc. If the customer has an private image repository, it can be reached from the cluster and the images from the repository can be retrieve for the K8S container runtime.
What is next after this??
What is next after this release of K8SaaS? There will be more value-added services that AVM Cloud already planned to offer to the subscriber.
We understand that some of the customer may choose to have data hosting in K8S and require persistent storage capability, at the same time, data protection become important, we will follow up with this release to offer new services to address these requirements.
Additional services of providing an easy way for customer to download whole full suite of pre-build container images to shorten their application development time will be made available soon. Watch this space.
