AVM Cloud provides a comprehensive array of data protection options, including snapshots, backups, and replication. Clients can choose the most suitable method or a combination of these options, tailoring their data protection strategy to align with their specific business needs and regulatory requirements.
SOLUTIONS - Data ProtectionSnapshot Service
Snapshot is a data protection feature that the external storage, at a point in time, will copy the data in the storage that can be recovered or restored in the event of any data corruption or deletion that affect the services. If a customer subscribes to this service, the data will snapshot once every hour. Therefore, this will keep 2 copies to protect the data with a maximum of 2 hours data lost. Additionally, we will also take a daily snapshot to further protect the data. This cannot be viewed as the only data protection approach since the snapshot and the active data are sitting in the same storage, presented as a single point of failure for the tenant.
SOLUTIONS - Data ProtectionBackup Capacity
Customers can request for backup services for any VM that is provisioned in the cloud. Customers can choose to backup all VM or a subset of VM provisioned. Each VM chosen will be protected by the backup software. The capacity will be calculated based on the rate of change and GFS retention policy. The more copies and longer retention required; larger the capacity required. Backup services also ensure that backup copies are replicated to the other data centre to protect against site failure.

For customers who wish to selectively nominate VM to be replicated to the alternate data centre for data protection, they can subscribe to our Replication Services. The RPO will be similar to the RPO provided on the storage service catalogue.
